A residential real estate developer who specializes in building modern homes in the Denver area, Kurt Wiedt has served as the principal of Markham Woods for a decade. A charitable individual, Kurt Wiedt is also a longtime supporter of the Denver Rescue Mission.
In late 2017, the Denver Rescue Mission opened three new shelters to help shield the local homeless population from the bitter winter cold. Constructed to provide a more comforting environment for visitors, these facilities offer places for them to store their belongings, shower facilities, and beds for them to sleep in rather than mats placed on the floor. The move comes as the organization looks to expand its ability to care for the homeless, with one of its more lofty goals being the capacity to shelter pets as well.
With the new facilities, there are now approximately 1,800 beds available for the homeless population in Denver. Visit denverrescuemission.org to learn more about the organization and ways that you can help.
